Dr. Hazel P. Berrard Amuah CROWIS is a multiple time award winning seasoned HR professional with over 20 years’ experience in the field. These awards include the prestigious international Number 1 Top Employer international award 2017, the Ghana top 40 HR professionals’ award, Ghana top 50 HR professionals award, the GHANA top 20 HR professionals award, the Ghana Woman professional of the year 2018 and the most recent one being the HR practitioner of the year, 2019.
She is interested in continuous people development issues with two terminal degrees in business administration from Switzerland and America as part of the development of a stronger business acumen to appropriately position her as a strategic business partner to her organisation in view of the envisaged acceleration and corporate growth in Africa as a HOT Zone. Her doctoral theses was in the field of culture and cross cultural leadership. She also holds a Master’s degree in Bilingual Translation (French and English) and a Master’s degree in Organisational Development. She is also a holder of Diplôme de Langue Française Niveau B2 du Conseil de L’Europe and a Diploma of Insurance from Malta.
Dr Hazel is a Henley certified coach from the UK and has cross cultural certification from the USA. Her work experience across 22 countries in central and West Africa spans industries like FMCG, Energy and the financial sector with areas of HR Specialisation including but not limited to:
HR Strategy Development and Implementation, Resourcing, Learning/Training, Executive Coaching, Cross Cultural Coaching, Talent Management & Talent Retention Strategy, Organisational and Management Development specialist, Performance Management, Career Design and Management, Employee Welfare and Policy formulation, General Compensation.
She is a co-author of the new launched book “CONTEXT: EXECUTING STRATEGY IN A DEVELOPING ECONOMY” which was edited by Professor Kwaku Appiah-Adu, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia and Dr. Hene Aku Kwapong. She has published several other papers which have been featured in international academic journals.
She is currently an Associate of the Royal Chartered Insurance Institute. She loves charity work and has over the past eight years been providing support to orphans, other vulnerable children and lepers through her NGO the Reach Out and Share Foundation. Her hobbies are cycling, swimming, reading and photography.
She is the founder of Reach Out and Share Foundation which is an NGO founded in 2009 which focuses on providing support for the less and under privileged in our society. In 2009, she is also the founded People Factory which specializes in Business Strategy and Human Capital issues.
She is a lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School and the Regional HR Director for Danone-Fanmilk West Africa overseeing Ghana, Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire, Burkina Fasso, Togo and Benin.
She is blessed with two wonderful children.
